Arilla is retired from the show ring now, but earned two legs toward her championship and excels in general appearance, particularly her smooth front end assembly. She moves with ease and grace and has a well-attached mammary system. She won the 3-year old class at the 2002 Minnesota State Fair. She has definitely proved her worthiness as a brood doe.  She is the dam of Aveda, Aware, Auburn and Amelie.  In 2008, Arilla freshened with a buck and doe sired by Xanto.  We are retaining them both.  We AI'd Arilla to Qu'Appelle V. Ember for a March freshening. Ember is the sire of the 2007 Reserve National Champion, GCH Redwood Hills Ember Americale.

2009 Bucks Kids: $500 (first buck will be retained)

Sire's Dam: Missdee's Yin

Dam: GCH Kara Kahl Golden Child
Dam's Sire: ++*B Qu'apelle Alchemist Goldsmith
Dam's Dam: SG Kara Kahl Jubilation Chive

Charo has proven herself most definitively as a strong brood doe. Her daughters Chartreuse and Chaderi have done very well in the show ring and both appraised Excellent in 2005. Chaderi was Grand Champion at the 2005 Minnesota State Fair and Chartreuse won the 4-year old class and was Reserve Grand Champion. Charo herself is very correct with a well-attached mammary system that also happens to be the easiest to milk in the whole barn. She was the 5th place aged doe at the 2006 Minnesota State Fair. Unfortunately, Charo was not bred for 2008, but she will remain in the herd and we plan to breed her to Arcade Fire this fall.

2009 Buck Kids: $500

2009 Doe Kids: $500

Aveda is a stylish doe with a definite show presence.  She finished her championship at the East Central Dairy Goat Show in June of 2008 by going Grand Champion in both rings.  In 2006, she placed second in a large, competitive 2-year old class at the Minnesota State Fair.  At the 2005 Minnesota State Fair she won the yearling class.  Aveda excels in general appearance, particularly her smooth front end assembly. She has a lot of capacity to her mammary system with a wide rear udder attachment and a smooth, well supported fore udder and she milks very well.  Thank you to Lucy Gerold and Scott and Christina Zwiefel for the purchase of Aveda's 2008 offspring.  We plan to AI Aveda to Willow Run Caesar this fall.

Sire's Sire: *B Kara Kahl Golden Lotto
Sire's Dam:  Kara Kahl Achieved Signe *M

Aware has had another strong year.  She ended her show season by going BOB in all four rings at the Bluff Country Show and BDIS under judge Tom Considine.  Aware was also the 8th place 3-year old in a very competitive class at the ADGA National Show.  At the 2008 East Central Dairy Goat Show, Aware won Best of Breed in both rings and was named BDIS under judge Dan Laney.  She capped off her 2007 show season by winning Grand Champion Senior Doe and Best of Breed at the Minnesota State Fair.  She also went BDIS two other times, first at the East Central Dairy Goat Show in June and later at the Olmsted County Fair in August. We appreciate her long and level body and strong feet and legs.  She also has a very nicely supported mammary system, both fore and rear.  Thank you to the Heldt family and Chrystyna Mercer for the purchase of Aware's 2008 buck kids.  We have a very exciting breeding planned for Aware and hope to AI her to Pleasant Grove Super Saga.

Although Auburn was not as "in bloom" in 2008 as we would have liked, she did manage to finish her championship at the Bluff Country Show in September and continues to maintain her beautiful front end and smoothness of blending throughout.  She stands on a strong set of feet legs and her mammary system is also well attached with a pleasing texture.  We plan to also AI Auburn to Super Saga this fall.

Amelie is very correct on her feet and legs and has a nicely shaped and well-supported mammary system with an especially high, wide rear udder.  At the first show of 2008 held by the East Central Dairy Goat Club, Amelie placed first in the milking yearling class in both rings and placed 2nd in the milking yearling class at the 2008 Minnesota State Fair.  We plan to AI Amelie to Missdee's Nilan this fall.

Dam's Sire:
Mellow-Meadows Studds
Dam’s Dam: Kara-Kahl Lotto Sarlat

So Fine excels in dairy character, being flat boned and open throughout.  She's very correct about the feet and legs, but could use a bit more strength.  Her high, wide rear udder is particularly strong.  At the first show of the season, So Fine stood second to Amelie in both rings.

Sire's Dam: GCH Sunshine Clare Rehma (Best Udder 1998 National Show)

Chartreuse is an incredibly dairy individual that exhibits a great will to milk.  We brought Chartreuse out of retirement to compete at the 2007 Minnesota State Fair where she placed a competitive 4th in the Aged Doe class. She was also part of our 1st Place Dairy Herd at the State Fair. In 2005, she was Reserve Grand Champion Senior Doe to her full sister, Chaderi, at the Minnesota State Fair against 88 senior does.  Chaderi was sold that year to Poplar Hill farm where is continues to reside. Together they won the 2005 Produce of Dam class at the Minnesota State Fair.   She is an extremely productive, dairy individual with impressive strength of frame. She also has a capacious and well-supported mammary system. In 2008, Chartreuse freshened with triplet does sired by Xanto.  Thank you to Scott and Christina Zwiefel & Lucy Gerold for the purchase of 2 of these does.  We have retained the third doe for our herd.

Sorbonne was quite lovely.  She blended milk and show and was extremely correct with a strong set of feet and legs and a very level topline. Her mammary system was strongly attached and capacious. In 2006, she placed 2nd in the competitive 3-year old class at the Minnesota State Fair. She was also wonderful to milk.  Sorbonne placed 4th in the competitive 4-5 Year Old class at the 2007 Minnesota State Fair and was also part of our 1st Place Breeder's Trio and Dairy Herd. At the September Bluff Country Show, she was Reserve Grand Champion in one of the rings, finishing her championship.
