Wingnut's Dam: CH Kickapoo Valley Saga Whimper - 5-06 EX 92 (EEEE)
Whimper is one of our
favorite does in the Pleasant Grove herd. Not only is she a beautiful doe, but
she also has tremendous size, dairy strength, and presence. Wingnut
himself is tall and upstanding with excellent length of bone, dairy character,
and style. He is also a paternal brother to our own Pleasant-Grove Zen
Xercise who is a promising 2-year old. Xercise was Reserve Senior Champion
at the 2013 MN State Fair and the third place milking yearling at the 2012
National Show. We are very excited and thankful for the opportunity from
Pleasant Grove to use Wingnut this fall.

Doright's Dam: Kickapoo-Valley Canadian Lady
We saw something special in Doright's dam at the
spring club show in Janesville, Wisconsin, and admired her dairy refinement,
long, elegant neck, and beautiful mammary system. She stood first of 12
milking yearlings in one ring at that show, and the competition was fierce.
Canadian Lady's sire, Lord Whimsey, has done outstanding things is Cathy Mabie's
Roeburn herd. Lady's dam, Zamboni, was a top show doe in the Kickapoo
Valley herd. This young buck is very strong on his feet and legs and has a
beautiful front end. We'll be using him on a good number
of our junior does as well as some targeted breedings with our older animals as
well.

crosses on several of our does this fall. His first milking daughter in
our herd, Kara Kahl Antonio's Siri is long, tall, and elegant. She was the
first place milking yearling at the 2013 MN State Fair and won her first
championship leg at the fall Bluff Country Show.

Longitude's Dam: CH Pleasant-Grove SSO Length,
2011 Reserve National Champion
We greatly admired Length
for her strong, long, and correct frame, and her beautiful mammary system.
We see a lot of potential in our Amen daughter, A & W, and see the sire's side
of Longitude's pedigree complementing our genetics well.
Longitude sired our
1st place Intermediate Kid at the 2013 National Show, Kara-Kahl PGL Almond.
He also sired the 1st place Junior Kid and 3rd place Senior Yearling! We
are very excited about the promise these young does exhibit and are excited
about freshening them next spring!

We bought 5 more straws of Saga this year after
watching our Saga daughter, Ajuja, mature into a lovely, competitive doe. We were
pleased that she could be a part of the 1st place Senior Get, a win that truly
demonstrates the lasting influence this buck has had on the Alpine breed.
Saga is increasingly in the background of many of our Alpine pedigrees.
